Under the Sea

Captured with a Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL and 18mm lens at f/10.0 for 1/200s and 400 ISO.

I know that it's not... But I like the title nonetheless (and it's my website, so there!) So yesterday Nick told me about a few places around Pearson where you have an awesome view of a runway or two (when the wind blows a certain direction.) The conditions were right today, ergo a photo trip to the airport was in order. We stopped off on top of a parking garage to watch planes land, but it really wasn't that exciting there. So we moved to ground level right bettween the Wendy's and the Petro-Canada, in a parking lot right under the flight path. A few planes later with me laying on the ground, and here we go.

So I love my polarizer. That gradation in the sky is caused by the filter, not Photoshop. I have noticed that my colour corrections are becoming more and more elaborate. There are 7 or 8 adjustment layers on this photo, with custom mattes on most of them. And all of that for this seemingly simple photo.

Again I'm having issues with the cropping of this one. The right border of the photo is natural, but the others are not. I wish I had a fraction more space around the right wing tip, but there isn't much I can do (and I did try to extend the sky, but it's just too smooth for me.) So the right wing tip is creating a huge tension point in my mind that I can't ignore. The nose and the left wing tip are just right... Just enough space. Comments or questions?
