The End Approaches

Captured with a Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL and 24mm lens at f/8.0 for 10s and 100 ISO.

Hey everybody! How have you all been? Me, I've been kinda busy... Thusly the whole 14 days since my last post. I know, it really sucks, but things have been kinda hard for a while so photography kinda slid down the list of priorities. But on to the photo for today...

As you can see, my basement is making progress. I've already posted a photo from the work on the basement. Take a look here to see that one. This is actually one of the big things keeping me busy lately. So you can see there is quite a bit of progress here. All the walls are out... The new structural elements have been framed... And my ridiculous lighting system has been wired. There is going to be SOOoooo much control over the lighting down there, it just blows the mind. In the photo you can see the new floor (the stack towards the left) and the new drywall (leaning against the back wall.)

So i stuck my camera on it's tripod (I gonna go buy a new one of those too soon, yay!) and starting to play with the lighting. A 25W bulb on the back wall, and about 8 or 9 bulbs lighting the rest of the room at 10-20% power. There is another bulb aimed to fill the shadows on the far corner ever so slightly. In post I decided to de-saturate the colours and to push towards black as you pull farther away from the main light source, in order to shift the attention more towards the silhouettes.

It feels great to be back... Let's see if I can keep it that way. ;)
